Madayn Samail (Ferrous Division) — Recycling & Manufacturing, Oman

Madayn Samail (Ferrous Division) is Al Thail's steel recycling and manufacturing plant in Oman, and the next stage of the group's resource-recovery journey. The plant turns recovered ferrous scrap into steel billets, so the material the group collects across its yards is melted down and returned to industry as a finished, usable product.

Approved ferrous scrap is received from Al Thail's network of Oman yards and from approved suppliers. Each lot is checked and sorted on arrival, so that only suitable material is charged to the furnace and the chemistry of every heat stays under control.

The scrap is melted and refined, and the molten steel is cast into billets. Billets are the starting material for rolling mills, which turn them into reinforcement bar, wire rod and other steel products used in construction and industry.

Quality is checked at every stage, from incoming scrap through to the finished billet. Samples are tested so that each batch meets its required specification before it is released to customers.

Health, safety and environmental controls run alongside production. Emissions, slag and other residues are managed responsibly in line with applicable regulations, and recycling steel in Oman keeps valuable metal in the local economy instead of exporting it as scrap.

Madayn Samail (Ferrous Division) completes Al Thail's circular chain: scrap collected in Oman is processed, recovered and manufactured into steel billets close to where it was collected, supporting local employment and Oman's industrial growth.
